Research Areas

This project builds on the research work initiated in 2022, following the creation of the Observatory of Productivity and Competitiveness in Spain (OPCE) database. The first part of the report analyzes Spanish data from both national and regional perspectives, distinguishing among the major basic sectors. An international comparison is also included.

The second part examines various aspects of the different productivity paths among regions, sectors, and firms. Finally, the study concludes with a chapter that focuses on the significance of microeconomic factors in productivity. This analysis, based on detailed business dynamics within each sector, enables a deeper understanding of the scope and determinants of firm-level productivity heterogeneity.
