Growth and capitalization
One of the variables essential to understanding economic growth is the analysis of capital accumulation. The Ivie, in collaboration with other institutions, builds databases with information on different assets, tangible and intangible, that make up the capital stock in Spain. One of the databases with which the Ivie has the longest experience and has earned most recognition is El stock y los servicios de capital, developed since the mid-1990s. During the last decade, the analysis and construction of databases have included also intangible assets which are a key factor in the development of the knowledge economy.
The investment and capital stock series, both tangible and intangible, offer national and regional data covering long periods of time by asset type, industry and institution (public or private).
AVAILABLE DATABASES
The Ivie, in collaboration with Telefonica Foundation, offers the first annual database of the value of investment in intangible assets and its capitalization for the period 1995 to 2011 for the whole Spanish economy
This database, developed by the Ivie in collaboration with the Cotec Foundation for Innovation, offers information on the gross fixed capital formation (GFCF) in intangible assets in Spain and its autonomous communities by sectors
Esta base de datos pone a disposición del público series desde 1990 hasta 2010 del stock de capital en viviendas, incluyendo el valor del suelo. Los datos se presentan con una desagregración a escala autonómica, provincial y por estratos de población.

La línea de investigación sobre stock de capital incluye una base de datos con información sobre cincuenta años de acumulación de capital, con series nacionales desde 1964 hasta 2014, así como datos territorializados por comunidades autónomas y provincias hasta 2013.
Recoge información sobre la inversión y el stock de bienes de consumo duradero acumulados por las familias españolas a lo largo del tiempo, desde una perspectiva nacional y regional, y está asociada a la monografía El equipamiento de los hogares y las dotaciones de capital de las familias en el siglo XXI.
El Observatorio de la Productividad y la Competitividad en España (OPCE) es una iniciativa de la Fundación BBVA y el Ivie y su objetivo es generar datos de forma periódica y realizar análisis y comparaciones internacionales, sectoriales y regionales sobre la productividad y la competitividad españolas.
Esta base de datos muestra la actividad inversora del sector público desde una visión de muy largo plazo con un amplio detalle de la distribución por comunidades autónomas y provincias, lo que permite analizar la evolución territorial del capital público en el periodo comprendido entre 1900 y 2012.
