Research Areas

The aim of this project is to create an Observatory that tracks the advancement of R&D&I and technology in the Valencian Community. This information will allow to design actions that influence the change in the knowledge- and technology-based productive model.
The Observatory has as its main focus the construction of a system of recurring indicators that are organized around the following five areas. The first area offers a general overview of the Valencian economy. The remaining four refer to the pillars on which the LAB Foundation’s activity is centered: Research and development; Intangibles and business innovation; Technology and digitalization; and Entrepreneurship and human capital.
A total of 50 indicators are monitored (10 in each of the areas described) with data for the Valencian Community in comparison with Spain and certain Spanish regions of reference (Andalusia, Catalonia, Community of Madrid and the Basque Country). Additionally, some indicators of interest also include the EU average, and countries such as Germany, France, Italy and Portugal.
Along with the analysis of these indicators, a qualitative analysis is carried out, based on the participation in discussion groups of various managers of Valencian companies, on the technological talent present in the Valencian business community and the profiles that are directly or indirectly related with technology.
