Measuring the Contribution of Sports to the Economy in the Valencian Region

The Directorate General of Sports of the Valencian Regional Government  and the Ivie have signed a collaboration agreement to support, promote and finance studies related to the economic impact of sporting events in the Valencian Community. The study aims to optimize event management, to improve the currently available analyses on the success of public policies regarding the promotion of sporting events, and to analyze the business sector in the Valencian Community related to sports and physical activity.

The main objective of the first of these studies entitled, “Measuring the Contribution of Sports to the Economy in the Valencian Region”, is to quantify the direct GDP and employment contributions made by the sports industry in the Valencian Community, as well as the overall impact of the expenditure related to sporting events.
