The Spanish Agri-Food Sector in the Context of Spain’s Regions. 2025 Report
Cajamar and the Ivie continue their collaboration in the development of an observatory of the agri-food sector across Spain’s regions, providing a comparative perspective on all autonomous communities as well as the national average. To this end, this new report updates the extensive system of indicators used to analyze the sector’s key economic dimensions, including production, employment, prices, foreign trade, productivity, competitiveness, and innovation.
The observatory provides information covering the entire agri-food value chain, encompassing the primary sector, food processing industries, and distribution activities. The study also includes a summary profile for each autonomous community, highlighting its position within the ranking of Spanish regions across a range of indicators.
The analysis will focus primarily on the most recent three-year period (2021–2025, and in some cases from 2019 onwards), depending on data availability for the statistics considered. The report offers a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the performance and distinctive characteristics of the agri-food sector across Spain’s regions.
