Research Areas
The objective of the LAB Mediterráneo Foundation research program is to promote the balanced growth of the Valencian Region, taking into account the new paradigm in which the knowledge economy is framed. This objective is structured around four main pillars:
- Research and Development (R&D)
- Innovation
- Technology
- Entrepreneurship.
The Ivie collaborates with the LAB Mediterráneo Foundation in the first three pillars. The result of this collaboration has been the publication of the documents: “¿Cómo impulsar la I+D+i en la Comunidad Valenciana?” and “Radiografía de la inversión privada en I+D+i en la Comunidad Valenciana”, aimed at analyzing the situation of R&D and Innovation, the results of which were presented and discussed in different forums in 2021 and 2022.
Following the same strategy as in the previous two reports, this work seeks to address the situation of the Valencian Community from the perspective of the third pillar, technology. It does so by comparing the Valencian Community with the most developed countries in Europe and the three leading regions, using a wide range of indicators structured around those that are currently considered to be determinants of technology as drivers of economic growth. As opposed to the preceding reports, the region of Andalusia is not included in this case since Malaga does not play a prominent role as in the two previous reports, especially in the first one.
