The capital stock database, developed by the Ivie in collaboration with the BBVA Foundation since 1995, includes information spanning more than fifty years of capital accumulation in Spain. In recent years, the database on investment and capital stock has undergone changes that include a major update and methodological revision, resulting in substantial improvements. These enhancements provide significantly more up-to-date information on all the variables considered in the study of the accumulation process. The previous time lag, two years for national data and three years for regional data, has been reduced thanks to nowcasting techniques.

Therefore, using the latest available data, the aim of this new project is to analyze recent changes in investment patterns by asset types, sectors, and regions — particularly those related to the acceleration of digitalization, the trajectory of public investment, and the impacts of the pandemic and the war conflict.
