The Forum Cañada Blanch project, initiated in 2014 by the Cañada Blanch Foundation, the Ivie and the London School of Economics (LSE), with support from the Valencian Association of Entrepreneurs (AVE) and Bankia, aims to organize meetings on relevant economic and social problems of the Valencian Community, as well as to produce analysis and foresight documents on these issues.
The first edition in 2014 of the Cañada Blanch Forum focused on the analysis of the situation and prospects of the Valencian economy as well as on the possible competitive strategies for Spain’s and Europe’s scenarios for the next decade. The 2015 Forum went on reflecting on the path followed by the Valencian economy and provided answers to its challenges by producing an analysis and prospective document entitled Industry and/or services? What are their competitive advantages for the Valencian Community. Also a day of debate and dissemination of the results was held. The business and institutional managers that participated discussed about the possible advantages of the manufacturing and service sectors to strengthen competitiveness in Europe, Spain and Valencia.
At the end of the Forum a review document was published based on the presented papers and the held debates, which also included the main conclusions of the Forum and the proposals for action that can help Valencia improve its competitiveness and grow in a sustainable way.
