Corporate sustainability and social responsibility: situation and challenges for the implementation of ESG policies in unlisted companies

This project analyzes the position of Spanish unlisted companies in connection to the adoption of business models aimed at sustainability and long-term competitiveness. The goal is to study, from an empirical perspective, the practices and principles related to ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria found in Spanish SMEs and to assess them in terms of the characteristics of their strategic leadership and corporate governance. The study will focus on mapping the current situation in ESG policy adoption in unlisted companies and identifying the elements that determine the adoption of these management strategies. This will require a significant amount of work to generate new microeconomic information, including data collection techniques on company websites.
