The content of Ivie’s collaboration with these two institutions is structured in three parts: its participation in FIAB’s annual report, the preparation of thematic reports and the provision of technical assistance.

According to FIAB’s 2014 Annual Report, carried out by the Ivie, in that year the food and beverage industry production grew by 3.8% in real terms, almost double that of the manufacturing industry, and the number of persons affiliated to the Social Security regime in this industry rose by 1.95%. Furthermore, 19.7% of Spaniards’ shopping basket is made up of food and beverages, which represents an increase of 3.7% compared to 2013.

During the 2015 two specific studies were developed which purpose was to address more specifically several aspects of the agri-food sector: the first report analyzed the labour market of the food and beverage industry market, and the second report addressed the evolution of investment in this sector in Spain and included also a international comparison.
