The Spanish Agri-Food Sector in a European Context. 2025 Report
The aim of this report is to update, for another year, the indicator system of Cajamar’s Agri-Food Observatory and to produce a report based on the data available for 2025. The study places particular emphasis on international comparisons, providing a broader perspective on the performance and characteristics of the sector. It covers all stages of the agri-food value chain, including the primary sector, food processing industries, and the wholesale and retail distribution of agri-food products.
The report analyzes the structure of agriculture and agri-food businesses, as well as key indicators related to value added and production, employment, competitiveness and productivity, prices and food basket costs, foreign trade, and innovation within the sector. By comparing Spain with other European countries, the study offers valuable insights into the strengths, challenges, and competitive position of the Spanish agri-food sector within the European context.
