This research project carried out for the BBVA Foundation has focused on analyzing the functioning of the Spanish judicial system that it has been criticized throughout the decades since the adoption of the 1978 Constitution. During the crisis, public trust has diminished greatly in the institutions responsible for this important role, as well as in their results. According to the Eurobarometer, we can observe the greatest differences in terms of confidence in public institutions between Spain and other developed countries. These negative impressions contrast with the abundant legislative and administrative reforms of recent decades, including the ones addressed at the beginning of the 21st century.
