Research Areas

The objective of this report is to update the observatory of the agri-food sector in the Spanish regions, to offer a comparative view of the situation among regions and the national average. To this end, a broad system of indicators has been constructed to analyze the different economic aspects of the sector (production, employment, prices, foreign trade, productivity, competitiveness, etc.). In addition, it includes an analysis of the environment and sustainability of the agri-food activity, already present in the 2022 and 2023 report, and reinforces the innovation indicators. The observatory provides information on the entire value chain of the sector, which includes primary sector, processing industry and distribution. The study contains a detailed information sheet for each of the Spanish regions with their position in the ranking in various aspects. The period covered will mainly include the last three years (2020-2022, sometimes starting in 2019) or until the last year available depending on the statistics considered.
