Valencian Agri-Food Economy Observatory 2026
The Ivie and the Valencian Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fisheries have renewed their collaboration for another year to support the activities of the Valencian Agri-Food Economy Observatory. Established in 2024, this partnership aims to produce research studies and value chain analyses for the agri-food sector, enhancing knowledge and understanding of the factors that shape competitiveness, efficiency, entrepreneurship, and the distribution of value among the different stakeholders involved.
For 2026, the agreement includes the preparation of three reports aimed at providing deeper insights into the agri-food sector and agri-food firms in the Region of Valencia. The first report will examine the level and evolution of business margins (gross operating surplus-to-sales ratio) in the Valencian agri-food sector and compare them with the national average. The second report will analyze the presence and degree of participation of investment funds in the ownership structure of agri-food companies in the Region of Valencia over the last two years. Finally, the third report will focus on the importance and key characteristics of family-owned businesses in the Valencian agri-food sector.
