The socioeconomic contribution of Spain's University System

The Secretary General of Universities of the Ministry of Education has proposed to the Ivie this research which objective has been to analyze and quantify the economic and social impacts of the daily activities of the Spanish universities. The study aims to clarify whether Spain’s universities are academically prepared, efficient and international enough, and capable of developing the necessary structural changes to meet the challenges of knowledge society and of globalization. To this end, the Ivie has analyzed in detail the strengths, weaknesses and threats for the universities from an academic perspective, as well as the efficiency of their functioning in the Spanish universities context.
