Economic impact of Mercadona and its supply chain in 2025

The objective of this study is to estimate the overall economic impact of Mercadona in 2025 and its contribution to Spain’s GDP and employment. To this end, it provides aggregate data for the economy as a whole, as well as a breakdown by sector. The impacts are also presented separately, distinguishing those arising from ordinary operating activities (purchases from suppliers and other expenses).

Additionally, the report estimates the tax return obtained by the Public Administrations as a result of Mercadona’s activity, through the different types of taxes associated with production, trade, or income generation.
