Estimation of the potential demand for a degree in interactive technologies at the Gandia Campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia
Estimation of the potential demand for a degree in interactive technologies at the Gandia Campus of the Polytechnic University of Valencia
Project start date: 2015
Project end date: 2015
Funding institution: Universitat Politècnica de València

The objective of this report for the UPV was to estimate the demand for places which a degree in Interactive Technologies (GTI) might have during the 2016-2017 academic year. The estimate was made firstly through questionnaires aimed at young people who could potentially choose this degree and at first year students of related careers taught in the UPV and other Valencian public and private universities.

The report assessed the demand of first year students for this particular course, distinguishing between potential applicants of other degrees offered by the UPV, and potential applicants of degrees from other universities within the Valencian University System. Once the demand was estimated, the report analyzed how the new qualification might affect the actual offer of UPV degrees. For this purpose, the courses which could potentially be most affected by the introduction of this new degree were identified. Subsequently, a sensitivity analysis was performed on the identified degrees, determining an approximate number of places to offer so as to minimize the impact.

The methodology followed is based on the document Propuesta metodológica para la evaluación de la implantación de nuevos grados en la UPV, carried out by the Ivie and presented at the UPV in 2010
