In 2013, the Human Capital National series, which covered the period 1964-2010, was updated to 2013. The territorial detail (regional and provincial) of the series, by educational levels, industries, and the workforce, working-age, employed and unemployed populations enables to deepen the understanding of the changes taken place in the productive structure of the economy and the educational levels of the population. For the construction of the new Human Capital Series, the latest information published on the employment status and educational levels of the population by territories was exploited, as well as the data from the last Wage Structure Survey 2010 which was released at the end of 2012.
The report Dotaciones de capital humano 1964-2013: 50 años de mejoras educativas y transformaciones productivas offers the main results and conclusions from the analysis of the Human Capital data from sectoral, temporal and territorial views, and provides an overview on the key features of the changes experienced during the last fifty years. It pays special attention to the 2007-2013 period marked by the deep economic crisis.
The document entitled Metodología para la estimación de las Series de Capital Humano 1964-2013 describes the methodology used in the construction of the series, as well as some Human Capital indicators for the 1977-2013 period.
