The number of activities related with toursim in the city of Valencia has increased significantly in recent years. In 2016, the number of overnight stays in tourist establishments in the city was close to 3.9 million, with a significant economic impact on income and employment in the Valencian Community.
The analysis proposed in this paper aims to examine the economic impact of visitors to the city of Valencia on the production (sales value), income (value added/gross domestic product) and employment of the Valencian economy. The impacts considered are a sum of all impacts, direct, indirect and induced. Additionally, an estimate is offered of the fiscal impact in terms of taxes collected associated with tourism in Valencia.
