Jobs requiring more advanced digital skills obtain higher wages per hour worked and are linked to better employment conditions

People who work in professions that require a high degree of digital skills -which are also linked to better qualifications because they specialize in new technologies- earn up to 65% more per hour than those in jobs that require less digital skills (generally less skilled occupations). In addition, the percentage of employees with a permanent, full-time contract increases by 24 percentage points with these skills, while the weight of those with precarious employment, i.e. temporary contracts (less than three months), is reduced by two points. Thus, there is evidence that digital skills has significant benefits in the workplace. Improvements in wages and working conditions are also observed as the level of other types of skills increases, such as, digitized skills, that, although not initially digital, allow a person to adjust to new circumstances and provide an effective response at work when used in digital contexts.
