Women have better academic results, but obtain less stable jobs and earn 9.5% less than men
More than half of university students are women. In fact, they are more prepared than men when they enter higher education. They also achieve higher grades and complete their degrees in less time than men. However, their higher academic performance does not seem to be recognized by society in the labor market. Although they receive the same educational training, only 46% of female graduates have a permanent work contract four years after graduation, compared to 60% of their male peers. In addition, they earn 9.5% less than men, resulting in an annual pay gap of 2,624 euros. This gender income inequality exists in all disciplines except mathematics and physics and chemistry.
