Enrollment in master's degrees in engineering and architecture has experienced the greatest increase (79%), followed by health sciences (51%).

The number of students who decide to pursue postgraduate studies in  Valencian public universities continues to grow. Whereas 6,834 students enrolled in a postgraduate program in 2012/2013,  in 2016/2017 9,476 students enrolled, representing an increase of 39%.  Women represented 55% of new enrollments in master’s degrees (5,227) in 2016/2017.

The greatest increase in enrollment in master’s degrees was in engineering and architecture, where enrollments increased by 79%, from 1,122 in 2012/2013 to 2,008 in 2016/2017. This large increase is due to a requirement to complete a master’s degree in order to exercise regulated professions in engineering and architecture.

The second highest growth (51%) in postgraduate studies was in health sciences, where enrollment increased from 1,062 in 2012/2013 to 1,601 in 2016/2017. Enrollments increased by 37% in the social sciences and legal studies, which are the courses with the most students (4,356 students in 2016/2017, compared to 3,176 in 2012/2013).  Finally, the number of students enrolled in master degrees in science increased by 27%.
