Analysis of the Sports Sector and the Sports Industry in the Region of Valencia
Sports activities are becoming increasingly important in people’s daily lives, driving the growth of the sports sector. This new project aims to estimate the economic impact of selected sporting events held in the Region of Valencia and to assess the overall economic contribution of sport to the regional economy.
To this end, two reports will be produced. The first seeks to quantify the economic impact, in terms of income (GDP) and employment, associated with several sporting events held in the Region of Valencia during 2026. Specifically, the analysis will cover the Benidorm Cyclo-cross World Cup, the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, the Gay Games, and the Valencia Boat Show.
The second report will focus on estimating the overall economic weight of sport-related activities in the Region of Valencia, measured in terms of their contribution to income and employment. Together, the two studies will provide a comprehensive assessment of the role of sport as a driver of economic activity and development in the region.
