The objective of this project is to show an overview of the progress of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Spain in recent years. The purpose is to compare Spain internationally by using publicly available indicators from sources such as official statistics, OECD, European Commission and Stanford University indicators. Also, available data will be used to examine the progress of the digital economy in the Spanish regions. Subsequently, various statistical procedures will be used to identify the agents engaged in artificial intelligence in Spain and its regions, with a special focus on the business sector. It is importante to be able to present a perspective on the development of the digital economy that takes into account regional factors, as various reports related to the progress of digitization in Spain show clear proof of a geographical concentration and indicate that the penetration of digitization is not occurring in a neutral manner.
