The purpose of this project is to provide technical assistance to the AIReF with their study on Active Employment Policies (AEP) in the Spanish region of Extremadura. AEPs play a fundamental role in improving the employability of workers, increasing employment opportunities and contributing to a better match between job vacancies and potential workers.
In a region like Extremadura, with an unemployment rate of 19.5% in 2021, 5 points above the national average, and more than 11 in the case of young people, effective AEPs are more than necessary. Precisely, the objective of this project is to carry out a rigorous evaluation of 8 of the programs defined in the framework of the Extremadura Employment Strategy 2016-2019 and the Employment Plans 2016-2017 and 2018-2019 in order to, not only to improve future interventions carried out in the community, but also contribute to the creation of knowledge in the field of AEPs.
This work will be carried out through REDEV (Red por las Buenas Prácticas en Evaluación), an alliance formed by the Ivie, AFI, and KSNET to promote policy evaluation in Spain, both in public and private sectors.
