Ivie and SEPE sign an agreement to promote research through the exchange of information on the labor market

The aim of the agreement is for SEPE to provide anonymized information to the Ivie in order to develop various research projects on employment and the labor market in Spain

Ivie and the Servicio Público de Empleo Estatal (SEPE, Spanish State Employment Service) have signed an agreement to exchange information for scientific research purposes on the labor market and its impact on unemployment in Spain. This collaboration promotes the reuse of public sector information, favoring the development of new economic activities through procedures that guarantee the confidentiality or anonymity of personal data.

The purpose of the agreement is for SEPE to provide information on a regular basis to the Ivie in order to carry out various research projects related to the Spanish labor market, with the aim of generating knowledge that improves the decision-making process of employment policies. This collaboration improves the efficiency of public management in the field of labor market-related policies, facilitates the joint use of public resources and services and contributes to carrying out activities of public utility.

The SEPE is an autonomous body that currently reports to the Spanish Ministry of Employment and Social Security which is entrusted with the management, development and follow-up of the programs and measures of employment policy. Among the services it provides are the orientation and information on employment, self-employment and the labor market, incentives and means available for promoting hiring, maintaining employment, supporting entrepreneurial initiatives, as well as measures for the improvement of professional qualification and the management and control of the unemployment benefits.

The agreement includes the creation of a Coordination and Follow-up Commission made up equally of two representatives of each party, which is responsible for the tasks of surveillance and control of the execution of the agreement. The agreement has no economic content and does not generate any economic obligations or considerations between the parties.
