Research Areas

This research undertaken for the Bancaja Foundation examines the territorial distribution of human capital in Spain at regional and local level and the changes that have taken place over the last decade, based on data from the 2011 Population and Housing Census published in 2013 by the INE. The monograph analyzes the following aspects: the education levels of the population; the relationship between human capital at local level and municipality size, its productive specialization in technologically advanced activities; the inter-relationship between human capital and spatial mobility; and the use of human capital at territorial level.
