Research Areas

This research project provides systematic and updated source of statistical information on the situation of the foreign population in the Valencian Region and Spain as a whole. The 2010 release is a continuation of the previous editions carried out in the period 2004-2008.

The main aim of the project is to provide a comprehensive view of the immigration phenomenon with its many social and economic profiles; to offer individuals, social institutions and research organizations access to statistical material on the subject; to capture the quantitative aspects of the various components in the immigration cycle (population and residence, demographic movement, education levels of the foreign population, accommodation and housing, the foreign population’s access to work, to Social Security and to public health, their social integration, international immigration and remittances); and to compare data on the Valencian region with that of Spain and the other autonomous regions and to provide, as far as possible, data at provincial, district and municipal level.
