Dr. Alcalá has a aPhD in Economics from the Universitat de València. At present he is a researcher at the Ivie and research fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Research (London). He has been professor of Economic Analysis at the University of Murcia, visiting professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and CIDE (Center for Research and Teaching in Economics, Mexico), and visiting scholar for more than six years at the Universities of California-Berkeley, Harvard, New York and Columbia. He has been main researcher of numerous projects of the Spanish State Program of R&D&I and has published articles in prestigious international journals on subjects such as international trade, industrial economics and economic growth.
