The aim of this study is to estimate the economic impact of the start of the fourth Volvo Ocean Race (VOR) —Alicante 2017 Puerto de salida de la vuelta al mundo a vela— in the Valencian Community and the rest of Spain in terms of income (value added or contribution to GDP) and employment. The report will also provide qualitative aspects of interest on the appraisal of the event through the opinions of visitors to Alicante.
