Study on Temporary Incapacity in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country
This project seeks to respond to the Basque Government’s interest in obtaining a comprehensive, rigorous, and balanced diagnosis of the increase in sick leave due to temporary incapacity in the Basque Country. The aim is to provide an objective basis for social dialogue and the design of public policies. A deeper understanding of the reasons and factors underlying this phenomenon is essential in order to establish mechanisms that enable the effective and efficient management of workers’ health across all employment schemes.
This broad-ranging study will combine advanced statistical analysis with economic, labor market, and social interpretation. Its objective is to provide a solid evidence base for understanding the phenomenon in all its complexity, facilitating social dialogue and decision-making. In this way, the study will help guide the design of measures for prevention, management, and improved return-to-work processes, ultimately contributing to greater efficiency in the system.
