The aim of this report is to assess in economic terms the importance of the audiovisual sector in the Valencian Community as well as to show the importance of the region’s public broadcasting service (RTVV) in its direct contribution to the activity and employment of the sector and its potential to boost activity in the sector and in the rest of the economy.

The figures highlight the enormous impact that the closing of RTVV had on the size of the audiovisual sector in the Valencian Community, which went from representing 7.3% of the Spanish audiovisual sector in terms of employment in 2008 to only 1.4% in 2015 , and a 20% decline in the number of companies.
