The Integrated Operational Programme of the Valencian Community 2000-2006 (POICV) coincided with a period of outstanding growth in Spain as a whole as well as in the Valencian region. The report was undertaken for the Regional Ministry of Economy, Finance and Employment of the Generalitat Valenciana and reviews recent developments in the Valencian economy. It provides an accurate picture of all the changes that have occurred over these years in the following areas: population, production and income, industry specialization, labor productivity, labor market, firms and entrepreneurialism, innovation, R & D and technology, competitive strategy and international competitiveness, investment, capitalization and infrastructure, public infrastructure and logistics, tourism, farming, environment and energy activity.
