Extendend use and assessment of the Valencia 5K Circuit
Extendend use and assessment of the Valencia 5K Circuit
Project start date: 2016
Project end date: 2016
Funding institution: Fundación Trinidad Alfonso

In a previous study on the use and assessment of 5K Circuit , a runners’ lane in the Turia Gardens in the city of Valencia, two counts were carried out: one prior to the half-marathon that took place in Valencia and the other coinciding with the popular race itself. Consequently, the figures obtained from the use of the 5 kilometers circuit did not correspond to what we could call a typical or standard week, which would allow us to know exactly the level of use of the circuit and how this figure is affected by different sporting events.

The objective of this study developed by the Ivie for the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation is to estimate the number of uses of the 5K Circuit during a typical week so as to obtain a reference value. The use is estimated according to the time of day and day of the week. For this purpose, it was necessary to redesign the methodology followed in previous counts.
