The underfunding of the Valencian region challenges the sustainability of health spending and limits the development of other public services

The growth and aging of the population exerts an increasing pressure on healthcare expenditure, challenging its medium- and long-term sustainability. The solution to the existing problems of adequacy and equal access, along with sustainability of health expenditure, demands improvements in its efficiency and an in-depth revision of the Spanish regional funding system, given that the regions are responsible for providing these services.
