The Ivie has recently included Dirk Pilat on its team of researchers
His work will focus mainly on projects related to productivity, innovation, digital transformation and green economy transition
Dirk Pilat joins the Ivie’s research team, which, in turn, will benefit from his professional expertise and knowledge as a leading international economist. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Groningen and has served as Deputy Director of the OECD Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation from January 2013 to July 2022. He is also a member of the UK Productivity Commission and Ireland’s National Competitiveness and Productivity Council.
Beginning in September 2022, Doctor Pilat will start conducting his research work at the Ivie with a special focus in the areas of productivity, innovation digital transformation and green economy transition.
Pilat is co-author of more than 40 books and book chapters and has published over 40 papers in international specialized journals. It is a great privilege for the Ivie to have Professor Pilat on its team, as he will offer an added value to the research developed at the Institute. After nine years dedicated to managing the OECD’s Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation, along with its 160 employees, he now desires to return to his research, analysis and writing tasks, that he will be able to carry out at the Ivie from his future place of residence in Spain, which he will combine with his current residency in France.
