In 2017, the Ivie carried out 45 research projects, 22% more than the previous year

The 2017 Annual Report is now available for download, with a detailed description of the publications, projects and activities carried out by the Institute during 2017

During 2017, the Ivie participated in a total of 45 research projects (national, regional and international), 22% more than the previous year. The 2017 Annual Report describes in detail all of the publications, projects and activities carried out by the Institute during 2017. In addition, the Ivie added two new databases: Intangible assets: Database for Spain and its autonomous communities (1995-2014), in collaboration with the Cotec Foundation, and Economic Value of Knowledge, developed for the Ramón Areces Foundation.

Also, Ivie’s website was completely renovated in 2017 with a new section entitled Videoblog, which contains a series of three- to five-minute-long videos where Ivie experts give evidence-based information and opinions on current socio-economic questions.

The Annual Report, now available for download, also includes information on all the publications carried out by Ivie researchers and technicians. In sum, during 2017 they published 24 books and participated in 20 book chapters, as well as, 85 articles in published journals, 58 of which were in international journals.

The research work carried out by the Ivie generated more than 2,500 news media items in 2017, which includes 51 opinion articles written by Ivie researchers. Last year, five studies were presented to the media covering important issues such as the wellbeing of citizens, the intangible economy and knowledge-based activities.  Among the reports with more media coverage were Las facetas del bienestar: una aproximación multidimensional a la calidad de vida en España y sus comunidades autónomas, by Ivie researchers Carmen Herrero and Antonio Villar, in collaboration with Ángel Soler, Professor of the Universitat de València and Ivie technician.

In addition to the media presentations, the Ivie and its collaborators participated in national and international scientific meetings, seminars, conferences, workshops and courses to promote the dissemination and use of its research. The most outstanding events carried out during 2017 were the Conference on the Spanish Banking Sector which was held in June and the activities related to regional funding.
