Feria Valencia (Valencia Trade Fair) generates 515 million euros of GDP and the equivalent of 11,143 full-time jobs in the Valencian Community
Feria Valencia’s activities account for 0.5% of the Valencian Community’s GDP and 0.6% of its total employment
Feria Valencia has an impact on the Valencian economy of 515 million euros in revenues, equivalent to 0.5% of its GDP, according to an impact analysis report carried out by the Ivie. The Ivie’s report also indicates that Feria Valencia generates 11,143 jobs a year, equivalent to 0.6% of total employment in the region.
Feria Valencia represents 1,201.9 million euros in revenues derived from four different areas. Direct activity accounts for 40.4 million euros, visitor and exhibitor spending for 58.9 and 71.9 million euros, respectively, and exhibitor sales for 1,030.7 million euros. Consequently, Feria Valencia mainly generates wealth for the Valencian economy through increased sales by Valencian firms that participate in the Valencian trade fair, which account for 85% of the total impact.
Business services, trade, hotel and transport are the sectors that most benefit from the activities of Feria Valencia. Joaquín Maudos (co-author of the Ivie report, along with Eva Benages and Carlos Albert) confirms that 80% of the total income and employment generated by Feria Valencia is concentrated in the services sector.
In the presentation of the results, Maudos highlighted two factors that identify Feria Valencia as a driving force in the economy: every euro invested in Feria Valencia’s activities earns 10.2 euros for the Valencian economy and every million euros spent on operating expenses generates 221 new jobs in the region.
