6.6% of businesses in the Valencian Region are exporting companies, 1.7 percentage points above the national average
The dynamic trend of Spain’s exports has been a key factor in reducing Spain’s net foreign debt and in the country’s economic recovery which began in 2013. Valencian firms have contributed to Spain’s positive trade balance, increasing its activities abroad. In 2017, 4.9% of firms in Spain were exporting (2 percentage points more than in 2008) compared to 6.6% in the Valencian Region (2.6 points more than in 2008). In addition, Valencian exports have increased 73% since 2009, generating a 3,343 million euro surplus in its balance of goods, in contrast to Spain’s deficit, making it the fourth region with the highest positive balance which confirms the competitive advantage of its firms.
