Ivie's 2021 Annual Report now available!

The Ivie adapts to a post-COVID format, with more online activities, and launches a new multipurpose room facility to carry out different events

The pandemic has changed user behavioral patterns worldwide and has made the live streaming of events through Internet more common. During 2021, the Ivie began to adapt to the culture of this “new normal”.

In 2021, the series of Webinars “2030 Challenges for the Spanish economy and society” was launched to address socioeconomic issues of  interest, with experts from different parts of Spain. In total, six online seminars were held on topics such as housing, pensions and employment which were made available through Zoom and YouTube.

In addition to the Webinars celebrated in 2021, the Ivie held other in-person activities such as the Ernest Lluch Foundation-Ivie Dialogues, which focused on the consequences of the crisis in different areas. Likewise, other conferences and workshops within the IvieLAB framework were organized.

Moreover, the Ivie renovated its multipurpose room with new technical equipment that enables in-person and online activities while at the same time visually improving Ivie’s corporate image.

During 2021, a total of 43 dissemination activities were carried out, including workshops, conferences, debates and online study presentations. Furthermore, 62 research projects were developed.

The Ivie maintains a regular presence in the media, with more than 3,000 news items published in the press during 2021. Once again, U-Ranking was the project with the greatest impact in the media. Other projects with an outstanding number of news items published were IvieLAB. Madrid: Capital city, knowledge economy and fiscal competition appearing 178 times, and the report Distribution of the population and access to public services developed for the Ramón Areces Foundation, 143 times.

The Annual Report, available in PDF, contains all the information on the work carried out at the Ivie during 2021, as well as the scientific activity developed by Ivie’s researchers who published 171 papers through articles in journals, books, reports and working papers.
