Several large international organizations have their headquarters in the Valencian Community. For example, NATO in Bétera, United Nations Information and Communications Technologies Facility (UNICTF) in Quart de Poblet, and EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) in Alicante.

The objective of this report is to measure the annual economic impact in terms of production, income and use of these enclaves for their activity. The operation of each of these institutions results in an increase in the final demand of the Valencian economy that has a direct impact on sales, income and employment. However, in order for Valencian companies to meet this demand, they in turn demand goods and services from their suppliers, and these in turn demand goods and services from their suppliers, and so on through the different stages of production or value generation process. The sum of all these impacts is called indirect impact. Finally, the income generated through the aforementioned direct and indirect impacts is largely used for consumption, which means that companies increase their sales, income and employment, and this gives rise to the so-called induced impacts.
